打包 (Food Fight) - Unreal Engine 4 Action Cinematic

打包 (Dabao) is a 6 month collaborative project created by Team Sum. I was in charge of character rigging and animation and did some prop/miscellaneous modelling for my group as the characters were in development. Due to me being the sole rigger and animator of the group, I came up with a short action sequence to show off as much environment and character personality as possible. Due to time constraints, I created the facial rigs using morph targets/blend shapes and made enough just to get the expressions I needed for the shots.

Faced a lot of challenges importing my rigs and animations into Unreal Engine but I managed to overcome it through trial and error and with the help of my friends, lecturers and youtube videos. In order to get the characters to move convincingly, I acted out the some movements to get the feel and timing of the action and referenced martial arts videos. Had a lot of fun working on this and a lot of time and effort has been put into bringing the characters to life.
